About BusinessWorks
Background
Lifetime Health BusinessWorksSM is a New York State-certified preferred provider organization that uses an integrated care model to manage the workers’ compensation process. It is operated by Lifetime Health Medical Group and brings together occupational medicine, local case management, physicians and other providers with workers’ comp and occupational medicine expertise. BusinessWorks is staffed by certified nurse case managers who act as employee advocates to arrange all medical appointments, and coordinate treatment plans and return-to-work options. These services help employees return to productivity sooner. Case managers serve as the liaison among all parties involved in the workers’ comp claim. The local case management team has extensive knowledge and experience with both the providers and the medical delivery system in the communities which they serve. BusinessWorks is available to employers in the Buffalo and Rochester, NY regions. The managed care model has proven to significantly reduce medical and indemnity costs for employers using the program. Savings reports indicate an average savings of 20% for employers, through early intervention and continuous, more effective case management. Employers receive real-time information about their employers using innovative web-based tools. Our Philosophy: Bring together medical professionals and a proven case management model for workers' compensation that enables: - Employees to access quality medical care that will return them to work quickly and safely
- Employers to lower workers' compensation costs
- Employers, third-party administrators and/or insurance carriers to work together to improve the workers' compensation process
- Medical providers to benefit from a streamlined administrative process
